International Women’s Day

Celebrating women has become more important than ever–especially given the current political climate. Women are exerting their power, and making their voices heard. While we still have a ways to go in terms of equality, International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate how far we’ve come.

IWD is also the perfect occasion to make the women in our lives know how much we appreciate, respect and love who they are, what they’ve achieved, and what they do for us every day. The day empowers women to recognize their self-worth and empower their female peers.

Aestheticians and skincare professionals, the majority of which are women, spend their days making women look and feel their best, while educating them with the knowledge they need to take care of their skin, giving them some personal self-care time, and teaching them the tools they need for their day-to-day life and how they present themselves to the world. This is powerful!

Women often have strong relationships with their skincare professionals, some of which they might be have been visiting for years! Aestheticians and skincare professionals work as therapists as they listen to what their clients want to change, are embarrassed about or how their skin has evolved as they are aging. These professionals become their confidantes and who they turn to when something is going wrong with their skin.

Whether through skincare or makeup products, these women work to raise self-esteem and enable their clients to live confidently. On International Women’s Day (and every other day, really), we should celebrate the women in our lives, especially those who help others look and feel their best.
