Medical Grade Ingredients We Use

A part of what makes AlumierMD so unique in its formulations can be summed up into one word: Strategic. As you continue your journey with the brand, this term becomes more evident. The word strategic refers to carefully designed or planned to serve a particular purpose or advantage, and that is precisely what our scientific team keeps at the forefront of the formulation process for each individual product.

In order to truly achieve a therapeutic outcome, science must be considered. What is it that we are trying to achieve? Which ingredients can do this? Do they synergize with other ingredients? All these elements are carefully thought out during the initial selection process. A secondary consideration, though critical for AlumierMD, is how clean is each ingredient? Is this ingredient a potential allergen? Is it irritating? Is it a controversial ingredient whereby more evidence is required to label it as safe? Is there potential for systemic absorption which could potentially lead to cumulative issues with health down the road? Can it affect the environment in a negative way? Through rigorous testing, and countless strategic formulation trials, a performing formula is obtained. The last part, which can play a massive role in patient compliance, is elegance. Can it be applied daily? Is it suitable for my skin type or conditions? Too rich? Too light? Perhaps it’s drying? Elegance is an important factor in making a product perform because at the end of the day if the formula is not well-liked, the product will not be used as recommended.

Clean, medical and elegant is the key to AlumierMD’s strategic formulations, but let’s branch off into medical specifically, because at the end of the day you want to learn more about the therapeutic outcomes that impact the way your skin evolves.

AlumierMD marries two concepts when it comes to ingredients, Key Ingredients with Hero Ingredients. The key ingredients used include Salicylic Acid, L-Ascorbic Acid and Hydroquinone, all of which are USP grade, as well as additional synergistic ingredients such as pure encapsulated retinol, AHA’s and Resveratrol. They are utilized in concentrations proven by science to have an affect on enhancing the skin by targeting the pathophysiology pertaining to specific skin conditions.

Now, we can sit and talk about how these ingredients work, however many of these key ingredients aren’t new to you. The difference is that AlumierMD uses seven different methods of delivery which have been carefully selected for cutaneous permeability, controlled delivery or localized activity depending on each ingredient’s chemical characteristic.  Retinol, Resveratrol and Salicylic Acid, for example, include a polymer-encapsulation that enhances stability and offers timed-release delivery to decrease potential irritation and optimize performance. Our encapsulated salicylic acid is used in combination with free form salicylic acid in our targeted treatment serum for faster, superior results in the treatment of acne. The brand’s award-winning EverActive C&E™ + Peptide contains L-ascorbic acid which is suspended in a separate chamber, which is only activated when the patient is ready to use it. Inherently, vitamin C oxidizes which is why AlumierMD decided to change the way patients use and benefit from their daily dose of Vitamin C, by choosing not to pre-mix the batch which prevents the natural oxidization process. The brand chose a pure, 15% L-ascorbic acid which is the most bio-available form of vitamin C, and when mixed with the base of vitamin E and designer peptide MATRIXYL® synthe’6®, possesses a low, acidic pH significantly optimizing percutaneous absorption.

As you know a marriage involves two, so the second concept involved in the brand’s formulas includes hero ingredients, which work synergistically with the key medical ingredients that we know and trust.

For rosacea or redness-prone skin, one of the hero ingredients used is Piperonyl Glucose, which is clinically proven to visibly diffuse redness associated with this condition. Peptides are used in alignment, to better protect from external triggers which can worsen symptoms.

Reducing acne requires not only for sebaceous secretions to be controlled but for bacteria to be destroyed. By amalgamating Salicylic Acid with Oligopeptide-10, AlumierMD achieves fast, effective results. Acne bacteria (p. acnes), is an anaerobic bacteria that survives when there is no oxygen present, which is why it’s in a complete euphoric state when there is congestion. As if that’s not enough, it also receives nourishment by feeding off of that oil that is congesting the follicle, causing it to evolve and spread. While Salicylic Acid enters the pore, ridding it of congestion and build up, it does two things: It allows for oxygen to enter and starves the bacteria of nourishment. Science proves that Salicylic Acid can achieve quite a bit on its own when it comes to the treating of acne, but the outcomes are further propelled with the addition of Oligopeptide-10 which is clinically proven to minimize the appearance of breakouts.

In the case of hyperpigmentation, there are several hero ingredients chosen. Now, some professionals prefer to head straight for hydroquinone, and that’s fine – AlumierMD has you covered with a 2% formula. In addition, some of the hero ingredients which work on minimizing the appearance of discoloration and uneven skin tone include peptides like B-White™ and SymWhite®377 as well as Tetrapeptide-14, Niacinamide, Kojic Acid, and Arbutin to name a few. All these hero and key ingredients work together, targeting the pigmentation pathway, which is critical for enhanced and long-term results. The key to targeting discoloration involves correction and prevention of future damage and really helping to re-train the skin. Because you want results yesterday, all three formulations (HQ and non-HQ alike) contain ViaFerm White Shitake, that instant gratification factor which, brightens the skin and reduces uneven skin tone.

Last but certainly not least, we have solutions to target the signs of aging. Patients know they need the retinols, the AHA’s the vitamin C’s and all that they are proven to do for the skin, especially when it comes to aging. What sets our Retinol Resurfacing serums and EverActive C&E™ + Peptide apart is that they include MATRIXYL® synthe’6®, a designer peptide that works on the production of 6 major constituents of the skin, having incredible effects on minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles of all depths and volumes.

In summary, AlumierMD doesn’t just use medical ingredients. The difference lays in the sophistication of selected ingredients, the concentration of actives, as well as the marriage between trusted key ingredients with hero ingredients. We possess a medical team of PhD biochemists, physicians and skincare therapists, which influence and monitor the formulation process, ensuring optimal, long-lasting results.
