Drag Race UK’s Bimini Bon Boulash opens up about their skincare routine

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past week, you’ll know that Thursday saw the crowning of the UK’s second ever Drag Race superstar. Finalists Lawrence Chaney, Bimini Bon Boulash, Tayce and Ellie Diamond all battled it out for the crown (we’ll avoid naming the winner just in case you’re yet to catch up!).

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long for Drag Race Season 3, which has now completed filming and is set to air later this year.

If you’ve been wondering how the queens keep their skin looking so good on camera, finalist and East London queen Bimini Bon Boulash has now opened up about their skincare routine.

“I’m a firm believer that the paint is only as good as the canvas!” they explained. “A clean, fresh, smooth base of healthy, skin, free from redness, is perfect for applying make-up that will last, and won’t show dry patches.

“Over the years I’ve tried so many different things in my quest for flawless skin; in my teens I suffered with acne, and learnt the importance of hydration, so I have always drunk plenty of water. I’ve worn SPF and moisturised regularly for as long as I can remember in an effort to keep my skin as fresh as possible.”

“For a while all I would use was coconut oil, until I realised it was just sitting on the top of my skin and not really helping its quality. I then progressed to playing mix and match with different over the counter skincare products. Some of them were incredibly expensive.”

Bimini revealed that they now swear by Alumier MD products, having met aesthetics expert Dr Vincent Wong while filming the show (who also treated fellow finalist Tayce). The products are medical-grade skincare and available to shop online through a professional.

“My absolute favourites are the toner called Bright and Clear – which is a refreshing skin conditioning toner which gently exfoliates – and Clear Shield which is a broad spectrum SPF. The toner has evened out my skin drastically and the SPF leaves my skin looking glowy after I use it! I don’t think I will ever go back to over the counter skincare again.”

There you have it!
